The 41 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía Mapfre will welcome around 680 boats and 1,000 sailors from 40 nations in the bay of Palma. In this second year of the ISAF Sailing World Cup, the Sofía Mapfre opens the sailing season in Europe and will be the debut of the Women’s Match Racing as Olympic class on board Elliot 6m in Spain.

Due to last minute important logistics problems and with the goal of guaranteeing the quality of the competition, the Organising Committee has been forced to change the venue for the RS:X men and women. The new venue for the class will be Club Nautic Arenal. An amendment to the Notice of Race has been posted on the website dated 16/03/2010 at 09.30hrs
In accordance with point 3.9 of the Notice of Race, the event quota has been exceeded on 14 February 2010 in the Womens Match Racing, with 38 applications from 17 nations. The entry allocation and explanation of the process is shown in the ONB section of the website
